In the beginning of theMomBuzz (we’ve been buzzing for 7 years now), I used to love talking about whitening teeth. I’d talk about electronic lights you put in your mouth with a special cream, tooth paste, tooth guards filled with whiteners and many different brands. And then I decided the best way to get white teeth was simply not to stain them. You know, no coffee or chocolate. No tea or berries. Well, that is pretty much impossible. So I had to rethink it again. And most recently we successfully tried a product called Smile Brilliant as part of a review campaign.
How is Smile Brilliant different? Well, it is a mix of the professional results you get in a dentist chair, with the ease of use with an at-home kit. Yet, the results are at a professional level, thanks to the custom teeth whitening trays that are created using your dental impressions.
That’s actually the first step, creating dental impressions at home. They send a kit with everything you need. It includes three trays to do your impressions. One for the top, one for the bottom, and an extra in case you make a mistake. You need to mix two pastes together and then you place it in the tray evenly across. Very quickly you want to place this in your mouth and hold it in place for about a minute. It hardens like a wax and then you do your next set of impressions. If you are happy with the impressions you send it back. We did have to redo one of the impressions, so we are glad they sent the extra tray.
Once they receive the dental impressions, they quickly sent back the teeth whitening trays. They send a whitener and a desensitizer, in case your teeth are sensitive. We utilized that. We’ve been using the whitening gel two times a week. Results have been noticeable, with pesky coffee stains coming off. The whitening trays really keep the whitening gel against my teeth, for maximum coverage. I keep it on for ten minutes at a time.
I’ve had professional whitening in the past, and this is comparable in results. Yet, I can do it according to my own schedule. SmileBrilliant uses Carbamide Peroxide, which is what is used in professional dental offices. Teeth whitening systems found at your local store do not use that ingredient.
